Ben & Sally: Clouds Estate

I had the pleasure of capturing Ben and Sally's beautiful day at the incredible venue, Clouds Estate, during December.  Once again, I was taken aback by the sheer beauty and grace of the estate and had the most beautiful day - perfect weather, a little bit of cloud and two very generous and kind hearted souls ... their story making all close to them smile with joyfulness.   On the rare occasion I only meet my couples on their wedding day, and such was the case with Sally and Ben.  Ben, born in South Africa and Sally, born in Australia both travelled extensively with their hearts set on adventure and personal targets they wanted to achieve... and fate played a big part in getting them both in South America at the same time, more or less at the same place in their young lives.. and so a very beautiful love story began.

Charmaine & Gary : Clouds Estate 21 March 2009

I met up with Charmaine (or Charms as her friends and family lovingly refer to her) and Gary on a rainy winters day last year to discuss their up and coming wedding - chatting away like I normally do with couples we covered a whole range of things and as always how I got into the wedding industry and I mentioned I did my stint in the fashion industry and declared exactly what i did not enjoy about the industry in general... followed by an wide eyed reliasation that both Charmaine and Gary have found their true passion in, yip who knew.. the fashion industry. Lots of guffawks later I and eeeek am i happy to have been there to capture this exquisite wedding, the gorgeous couple and their warm friends and family.

Clouds Estate http://www.cloudsestate.co.za/ has to be in my top 3 wedding venues in the Western Cape - for various obvious reasons, the immensely impressive landscapes which surrounds a tuscan speldour of luxery, the rich textures of the buildings, the immaculate landscape of the grounds alone plus vineyards where you find a sunset to die for.. BUT... the true gem of Clouds has to be in the manager and event organiser, Brendon - who charms his way into your heart with his no nonsense can-do attitude, and no detail is left without his stamp on approval. Had to pick my jaw up from the floor when Brendon came to the rescue when a disaster struck with the ghd... Very very impressed I was.

Another mention of this incredible wedding was DJ Rene http://www.djrene.co.za/ (who i got to sit next to yay and chat about world music, how he got into the music industry - since im really in my opinion quite fierce on the dancefloor i'll let you know) - he rocked this wedding, Clouds and every pair of feet from beginning to end with his magical sounds.

Charmaine and Gary i had so many giggles and truly had such a good time.

Charmaine and Gary - you are fashion legends, you are rock stars. You were my two super models for the day and i LOVED every second of it.
